Amen to that! You know when you read about the States (at least here in Oregon) report card improving a few points?. Well the dirty little secret is that when they calculate that improvement, they neglect to tell you, that when the students are tested, they only have to
"Meet Or Exceed" the States
MINIMUM requirement. It takes some digging to find out that the States minimum requirement is only the 15th%! Big Hairy Deal on the improvement! (Of course we home schoolers must test at the 28th%) I guess they figure that parents have to prove they can teach better than the professionals. (Mine have all scored above the 75th % {my lowest score} with the majority of their scores being in the 90th % range. The problems are too much social engineering and not allowing the teachers to teach.
