Yes, you are correct. I am not responsible on my decease husband's student and car loan because my name is not on that bills.
If the credit cards both of husband and wife joint, if the spouse decease or divorce. Yes either of spouse is responsiblity to pay the bills. Both of spouses need to make the compromise with the attorney at the court to prevent hurt their credit history.
