I still wear my combat boots from when I was in the military. Very
comfortable, but we didn't wear lipstick with field uniforms. At
least the females didn't.

When I was in, there was the mistaken assumption that all of the
females who were training to be helicopter mechanics as I was,
were gay. Being 18 and totally unaware as I was, I couldn't
understand why I wasn't being asked out. I was really cute
in chemo outfits. I could use a wratchet wrench and still look
sexy. Just what was the problem here. When I casually mentioned
my lack of prospects to a male friend, he replied, "Well, your gay, right?"

After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I said "NO". He said "Oh! Well
you live on the second floor barracks with all the mechanics, every
one just assumes you're gay!" So I grabbed him and put a lip lock
on him that melted his socks. That ended that rumor.
