Our teacher made it clear that even though the events we were attending were welcoming to students overall, we might encounter people who would have that kind of feeling. This is also the reason I was defending the members of the deaf club to that gentleman (sorry, I forgot his name) who was offended by their seemingly unfriendly attitude...because really, I see y'all's point.
