That's right but what I know is that some manufacturers will do anything to cut costs, including CC chips. Some are using technical language like, "Well, we comply with the law for analog tv's but there is no law saying that we have to install the CC chip in the HD/digital tv's." Or language to that effect which is why the NAD (National Association of the Deaf), our watchdog organization is working with the appropriate Federal people in Washington to make sure this includes HD/Dititals, too. And I believe there is a deadline...2009 when all tv's will be High Def...So there you have it, Mr. Clarke...G'day, mate!

P.S It doesn't matter what brand, nice or ugly-fugly, all TV's over 13 inches will have the CC chip installed (decoders went out the window years ago, lol).
