Quality of Service vs Price of Service
You get what you pay for - it's simple.
One of the most frightening places to go to is Wal-Mart in/near major cities. Those places are zoos with undisciplined children and impolite adults. McDonald's (or, especially fried chicken places) are worse. If you have a complaint, you have to wait in long lines and deal with minimum wage workers (who work part-time and, perhaps, work that one shift to continue qualifying for welfare).
Going to KMart, Sears, or other more "pricey" places provides friendlier service, comfortable atmosphere, and the quality is always corrected/assured.
The police officers who had shown up at the girl's hearing were visibly overweight. Perhaps he'll stop eating at McDonald's and start eating his wife's cooking. Maybe then he'll save money, lose weight, and not make a big stink over a -$5 sandwich.
Just the same: you get what you pay for.
