I think that you could get a SSI or SSDI with a Medicare. If you are currently working, they might not give you the checks.

A food stamp is a terrible program because it tells you that you must buy the food within 5 days (?). I had a food stamp 5 years ago for a short time, and the program was very flexible time. Now, it is a very strict and very limited of days. I believe that the stamps are now worthless because it is not enough money to buy the food so you have to use your SSI/SSDI to buy the food.

By the way, I called and requested to stop receiving my food stamp so they mailed me the form to sign my name. Before I sign it on the form, I caught a fine print that says that it will be automatically included on SSI to surrender up so I did not want to mail the form. Finally, my food stamp is stopped - whew! That was five years ago.

Some say that SSI is bad. Well, it is better than no money. I do not mind that they receive their SSI or SSDI. (Some Congress people are doing their dirty money business anyway.)

Medicaid is very risky because it may take your house away in a specific age. Some people say 45 years old and some other say 65 years old. I don't have the exact information, but you should read the fine prints before you sign up for a Medicaid or Medicare.

I think that jazzy, shel90 and Phillips are right... (see their post)
