I would highly encourage you to STAY AWAY from SSI, they are pain in rear. Find good job; of course you need to start the bottom. Then you work up at least 10 years, then you'd be qualified for SSDI which is much better and more flexible than SSI.

I personally can't image how I can live off with under 600 dollars a month SSI checks. I get much more than that, and I love my job to death. Ain't going back to them ever again.
