I think u would qualify for SSDI...
I dont know wht the difference is but it helps with finances..LOL!
First step, get an audiogram done from your audi and bring it with u to the SSA office
2nd step, find the nearest SSA office
3rd step, walk in or call for an appt
and go from there...they will guide u thru the paperwork.
That's what I did after my ex left me while in my first semester of grad school. I was all alone and all panicky so some of my deaf friends told me to go appy so I did and it saved my ass in which I was able to finish school and get a better job.
