I went back to the clinic and had my volume bumped back up - aaah that is better, much clearer than before. I was feeling brave that night and picked up the telephone and called my husband. I asked him when he would be coming home that night. To my surprise I heard him say he would be back at 6.30pm. He had just woken up from a nap on the train. It was a short phone call but I was pleased that with my telecoil setting I could hear some of what he said. I don't want to try again for a while in case I was imagining it! I don't think that I will ever totally relax with the phone but it would be nice to get to the stage where I could just be able to make appointments, confirm arrangements etc.
