No, it's not
revenge against cancer. There is no emotion involved. It is
preventing the cancer from spreading and doing more damage.
If the surgery was for revenge it would mean removing the tumor
after the patient died from cancer, and stomping on it. It would serve no purpose.

No, it was not about revenge. We want to
prevent another 9/11 attack from happening.

No, not for revenge. For self-defense. To let the attacker know that he can't do that kind of thing without expecting consequences.
