Hi. I really enjoyed reading the entire thread and I felt very happy and read funny posts about their experiences with being a deaf and had to drive through.
What I'd love to see is a touch screen, with a camera built-in. So if someone walks up to a touch-screen and not driving a car, the employee can detect the man/woman walking, and they will say "Sorry, this is for drive-through only." Then, they will disable the controls so a walk-in person can't use it. If a camera detected a vehicle, then they will enable the touch-screen to take their orders.
Thus, I think that a legislature should pass a bill, requiring every fast-food restruants to replace the speaker box with a touch-screen with a built-in camera. But I understand if it's going to be that expensive, but at least the legislature should pass the bill. But that would mean, higher taxes for everyone, which I doult anyone would be able to afford higher taxes.. :p
Hmmm...something we have to think about...
Employees/Managers who don't treat deaf customers is like saying that all deaf people and hearing people are treated inequally. Deaf people should have the same rights as hearing people, and I, as a hearing impaired, visual impaired, and speech impaired person, 100% respect the deaf community.
