I like to buy kitchen things that will last a good, long time. I still have the original Farberware pots and pans that I bought when I was 26. For those counting on their fingers at home - yes, that means I've had them for more than 30 years! I've had my good kitchen knives for better than 25 years.

'course at my age now, it would be over-buying to hope to get 30 years' worth of service - I'll be lucky if *I've" got 30 more years in me!

Really I don't know exactly what I need to spend for good quality for something like this. It doesn't have to be all that fancy, but there are some features I'd like to have, and it seems mostly only the expensive ones have them.
