I've had appendicitis when I was a kid so my appendix was surgically removed. It was supposed to be a quick routine job - 30 min job but surgery took about 4 hours. my parents were frightened and thought I was dying. It took long because surgeon had to clean up the mess. It was because I waited a bit too long. My appendix bursted open. It began with a very bad stomachache and I laid down for 3 days. Since there was no sign of improvement, my parents got worried and took me to doctor. Doctor poked around and pressed down where the pain was. She told my parents to immediately take me to hospital. Took me one month to recover. Now with modern technology and advanced procedure.... it takes 1 week to recover because they perform surgery thru a tiny hole. I think just 2 holes - thru your belly button and lower abdominal. and get this... you will be conscious throughout this surgical procedure

I had epiploic appendigitis which feels like and looks like appendicitis last year. Worst pain ever. Was bed-ridden for few days and it wasn't getting any better. Finally decided to go to ER and all I got was a bottle of Vicodin... that happy pill made it better for me and all I can do was just wait it out and let it subsided by itself.
