I was lucky enough to meet him and play 2 rounds of golf with him in 1983 (I was still in school). Nicest guy I ever met famous or otherwise. Super funny too. He carried around one of those fart makers and used it on the volunteers at every tee box. The gallery following us was part of the gag after a while and would give the volunteer (usually a teenage girl) a dirty look when he would make the noise....then they would crack up a few seconds later.
It's sad to hear he has passed but great memories.
