correct keeping the laptops cool can be a task in itself!
once a week it helps to use canned air and blow the dust out of the cpu cooling fan and fins.( if you are in a very dusty area) otherwise once a month is fine.

also check your battery frequently for signs of bulging, excessive heat and leakage.
If your battery does not hold a charge for the correct time length, or your computer requests frequent battery calibration it may be failing!
if a battery leaks any fluid clean it up immediately!
the fumes from the battery are very caustic and will ruin the motherboard
if you notice a sharp odor it may be too late.

( I have seen far too many brought into my shop with battery fluid damage)
