This was for "planned parenthood".....meaning?...just a class?...or what?
Intrepretors are in demand!...We need many more....One was scheduled for me when I had to go to court, and never showed!...Since I could "read lips" the judge let me "slide by"!...I have no intention to sue! I was just happy to get out of there.
Also, at the adoption proceedings for my boys, the intrepretor was over an hour late....yes, I was angry! But the circumstances were beyond anyone's control.
Few weeks back, I went to see my family doctor, (female problem) and a male intrepretor showed up!...So I had to reschedule....For a woman only!
Had an appt. to see an eye doctor...and when I called to confirm, the receptionist asked the relay operator...."Can she read Lips? Can she read and write"?? ....When I replied "Yes"...the receptionist said, "Well, good, because we do not have intrepretors, and will not allow them......her last statement was...."You would not belive the deaf people we get in here!"...."But don't tell her that!".....BUT, the relay operator did tell me!....
And I did not go see that doctor!...I made a complaint about it and was told they were "aware" of it (that particular doctor)....and still waiting to see what is going to be done towards that doctor's attitude regarding intrepretors! And deaf people.
