Is enough being done in emergency preparedness for disabled Americans?

The American National Standards Institute Homeland Security Standards Panel last week published a report on proposed standards for emergency preparedness for people with disabilities. The report, which you can find here, takes into account real life examples from a recent conference on the topic held at Gallaudet University.

What are your thoughts on the report? Have we done enough, as a country, to be full prepared for emergencies – including providing adequate resources for Americans with disabilities and special needs? What do you think are the next steps for us to be full prepared?
