I wonder if this might be due to the fact that you feel more comfortable now that you have another way to communicate (ASL)? When I started using tactile sign, I noticed myself having an easier time hearing with my Comtek FM system. I am sure that is the case. That's what makes me pissed off is that I didnt have that growing up...would have saved me a lot of misery!
