It just shows how close-minded America is, whereas many other countries in Europe and Canada are starting to accept gay people.

Holland and Belgium are the only two countries in this world to grant FULL MARRIAGE rights to homosexual couples.

Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark have granted same sex partnership registrations since 1990s, and have made a pact with each other in 1995 to honour and recognise the partnership from these 4 countries.

France passed a law in late 1990s called PACS, which is like a civil union law allowing opposite sex and same sex partners to have marriage rights. Germany also followed suit shortly afterwards. I am not sure about other countries, but I hear there are some countries starting to consider same sex partnerships, like in England, as mentioned in the article.

I think the US should be ashamed for boasting of being the land of freedom, yet denying most basic human rights to their own homosexual citizens, just because of religious beliefs. Whatever happened to the separation of the Church and the State? Such hypocrisy... Need I say more?
