Dry shampoo comes in two forms: a spray or powder.

You're right that dry shampoos don't really clean hair as well as regular shampoos. They also leave a white residue behind and make the hair feel oily as a result.

Another option Etalton might want to consider is using no-rinse shampoo. (One such brand is called "No-Rinse.") No-rinse shampoos clean the hair better than dry shampoos and don't leave any residue behind. To use a no-rinse shampoo, you apply it to your hair, let it foam up and remove the foam with a towel.
