The tuners in VCRs are still analog.
Unless the VCR manfactures change the tuner to a digital tuner "ATSC" then VCR are not worth selling anymore because who want to buy a recording devices with analog tuners that no longer works.
Yes you still can use VCR for Composite or S-Video in but still limited to i480 resolution so if you try to record with VCR from a HDTV STB / Cable Box you wil lose lots of picture chopped off on left and right side on VCR recording.
So people don't want to lose chopped off picture during recording either. I think VCR will only have VCR/DVD combo player with no station tuner on it.
