Hey everyone! My name is Steven and I just got hearing aids about 10 days ago and I could not be happier!!!

The best part of getting them is being able to hear again.

The Second best part is they were FREE!!!!!!

I live and work at the Grand Canyon in Arizona and my hearing has been going down hill for a while. Like most people I ignored it and just kept turning up the volume and asking "What did he say?" a little too often.

One night I was at my friends apartment with a small group of people watching a movie about 1/2 way through the movie everyone jumps up and starts heading to the door. My friend John who knows I am hard of hearing looked at me as I had a strange look on my face wondering what was going on, and said "You can't hear the fire alarm going off can you?" I said "Nope!" It was at this point that we started making plans to go to a hearing specialist.

I went to an audiologist, and she was shocked I am 34 and a Switchboard operator and I have moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears. Yet my speach recognition is 100%, I just have to have things REAL LOUD!

I got refered to a program: Arizona Department of Economic Security Rehabilitation Services. My Counselor there was great, he got me set up in the program and my hearing aid were covered as a work related necessity so I did not have to pay a dime. I even got reembursment checks for my travel expenses back and forth to my doctor visits.

I have only had them for 10 days and we have been working out all the bells and whistles that you have to tweek for the first few visits. The kind I have are Phonak Eleva 211s I got them in translucent blue.

I am very happy!
