Hey man! If yo have many 1 or 2 gb flashdrives, You can plug it in available USB ports and Vista will use it as a ram. Have you thought about it? I don't know if it helps speed up ur friend's laptop
I just downloaded the 'cracked' version of Windows XP program that converts flashdrive into ram. Haven't had time to install it.
