Although actually, it would be nice if we could keep 800 numbers if we wanted them. You would have to pay for it (same as a hearing person who wants an 800 number) but you could have them. When I went to college the first time in 1997, my parents bought an 800 number so I could call them from college without paying for long-distance. They paid for it so I could call them free.
BTW Tousi - The 800 number (DirectVP) you have right now is free for your family to call! But they will be taking that away with the switch to the new program, you will get a local number just like your neighbors.

Yes, I know about 800 number. My Vonage service like VoIP never use long distance charge. same as NAPN.
